washu is an intervention of contemporary ideas infused into a collegiate gothic setting. the entire building is a new student center for washington university designed by a corporate firm to mimic the surrounding context. i have taken the oppurtunity to re-interpret the major public space.

the facade is a further exploration of the ideas behind the duke project, and asks how one penetrates the pattern.
